<p>The International Boundary and Water Commission, United States and Mexico, United States Section (USIBWC) intends to issue a solicitation for the sandblasting and painting of eight (8) Tainter gates at the Amistad Dam located in Val Verde County, Texas. The project involves the rehabilitation of the radial gates, including surface preparation, sandblasting, and application of a new coating system to ensure the longevity and functionality of the gates.</p> <p>Scope of Work:</p> <p>The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:</p> <p>Testing for lead-based paint on the existing coatings.</p> <p>Complete removal of existing paint/coating from the eight radial gates.</p> <p>Surface preparation through sandblasting to achieve the required cleanliness and profile.</p> <p>Application of a new coating system as specified in the technical specifications.</p> <p>Replacement of radial gate anodes, side seals, bottom seals, and seal fasteners.</p> <p>Re-tensioning of gate cables and alignment of gates after seal replacement and re-lubrication.</p> <p>Compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.</p> <p>Project Duration:</p> <p>The project is expected to be completed within six months from the date of award.</p> <p>Site Visit:</p> <p>A site visit will be scheduled to provide potential bidders with an opportunity to inspect the worksite and existing conditions. Details of the site visit will be included in the solicitation.</p> <p>Solicitation Release Date:</p> <p>The solicitation is anticipated to be released on or about 16 April 2026 and will be available for download on the SAM.gov website.</p> <p>Contract Type:</p> <p>The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed-price contract.</p> <p>NAICS Code:</p> <p>The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction.</p> <p>Important Notice:</p> <p>This pre-solicitation notice is not a request for proposals.
