The lithological information that is collected during the drilling of these bores’ feeds into the conceptual geological models, with this information the extent of each of our aquifers can be mapped. Once these bores are completed, they are being incorporated into BOPRC’s monitoring network where geothermal water levels, water temperature, water chemistry and isotope testing is regularly undertaken. During the drilling of the first bore BOPRC will be looking to collect additional information on the change in pH as drilling moves through the groundwater system and into the reservoir, this will be accompanied by regular temperature recording.
