Høvringen treatment facility is one of Trondheim municipality ́s two major sewage treatment plants, and cleanses the sewage for 2/3 of the town population. The treatment plant has been operated in accordance with requirements for expanded primary purification, but in 2024 received a new discharge permit which requires secondary purification as well as a 40% reduction of phosphor. The contracting authority ́s deadline to fulfil these requirements is set to 01.01.2028. The tenderer ́s deadline is 01.12.2027.
