Tender summary
This programme will work with young people and children in our community whose capacity to participate within their own community or with their peers is limited. Simultaneously encouraging and supporting those children and young people who are ready to be challenged with regards to the boundaries of their own mindset and to enable them to compare and contrast life as a young person on an international and cross-border basis. Programme Activities Programme 1: Engage • Stage 1: Recruit 250 participants to the programme (Approx 36 from each DEA area). • Stage 2: Explore through a co-design process 7 area specific programmes which identifies the needs and priorities to support the most isolated or withdrawn young people within our communities. Once this has been established, a tailored approach may be required to gain the trust and the self-confidence of these young people to engage in the Programme, so that they can articulate the areas of development, which are most needed for them. • Stage 3: Delivery of 7 DEA programmes in relation to stage 2. • Stage 4: An opportunity for inter-DEA work and partnership, to look identify, compare and contrast, similar needs and/or priorities or indeed challenges faced today, by our young people. • Stage 5: Planning and delivery of a local projects (7 Programmes of Activity to be agreed by our Children & Young People). • Stage 6: Delivery of an event to showcase both the projects and the skills of our young active citizen participants. Programme 2: Pushing Boundaries • Stage 1: Recruit 60+ participants to the programme, from the CCGBC, Inishowen and Estonian regions. • Stage 2: Identify and prioritise needs of the group through initial workshop and team-building settings. • Stage 3: International Programme to include hosting Estonian and Donegal delegation and then to return to Estonia & Donegal (Inishowen) to fact-find and discover the experience of young people in Estonia and Donegal, through a series of outdoor activities, and workshops. • Stage 4: De-brief. • Stage 5: Showcase or culmination of learning, having been documented from the beginning.
