The project has been undertaken in stages. The next stage of the project is to extend the existing shared path to Harrington Point. The DCC wants to partner with an experienced and capable contractor to construct a three metre (3m) wide boardwalk in Latham Bay, Portobello, between the Portobello Boat Club and Portobello Township. What’s most important: The safe, sustainable and effective delivery of works is essential. The construction methodology must consider the safety needs of working in a harbour, as well as the strict environmental controls required. Working within the harbour also has a cultural impact. The DCC wants to partner with suppliers that understand that impact and can adopt an approach to the works that includes tikaka. Effective traffic management is essential. The DCC wants to partner with a supplier that can ensure minimal disruption for road users.
