Tender summary
About the project SKREI -A CENTRE FOR EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE ON LOFOTEN FISHERY – IN THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. SKREI becomes a place where visitors can learn, sense, experience and understand the importance of Lofotfisket and skreien and the enormous values this has created for Norway. SKREI will stretch beyond the traditional frameworks of a museum. SKREI opens in 2026. SKREI will consist of four main parts: the new building Otolitten, the Lofoten Museum, the Gallery Espolin and the Lofoten Aquarium. All the parts shall be bound together so that it is visually beautiful, practically accessible and so that the story is conveyed in the best possible way. One place should complement the other. SKREI is realised in Storvågan, Kabelvåg – in the heart of Lofoten, at the place the commercial trade with skrei started. Hot romance in the sea creates livelihoods on land The sea areas surrounding Lofoten are some of the most nutritious in the world. This has created the basis for a natural phenomenon of dimensions. The Arctic cod grows up in the Barents Sea and sets out on the long trek to Lofoten to spawn. Lofotfisket has attracted thousands of fishermen and provided livelihoods for many. Lofotfisket and Norway's most important fish have created enormous values, culturally and economically. This long relationship between man and Norway's most important fish houses many important, exciting and surprising stories. SKREI shall raise the stories of the fish, the people, the culture, sustainability, past and future. Read more about SKREI here: https://www.museumnord.no/projects/skrei/ About the procurement: Otolitten, the new building - the actual navet in SKREI, opens for the public in summer -26. This procurement is for the delivery of 'mobile fixtures' for Otolitten.
