Summary
Successful achievement of key milestones specified in the research project entitled Genotoxic Effects as Early Biomarkers of Cancer Risk in Wildland Firefighters is contingent upon the scoring of micronucleus incidence in human peripheral blood samples. Given the irreplaceable nature of the biological samples, and the highly specialized nature of the analysis, Health Canada requires a qualified contractor to ensure the secure shipment of blood samples and the execution of the flow cytometric analysis (i.e., for scoring of micronucleus incidence in each sample). The project is funded under the National Framework on Cancers Linked to Firefighting.
