GEF Small Grants Programme-Call for Project Proposals under the Operational Phase 8 Landscapes - Botswana - BOTSWANA

Summary

Overview The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme invites Civil Society Organisations (Non-Governmental Organisations, Community Based Organisations, Cooperative Societies), Academic and Research Institutions in Botswana (private sector entities are not eligible) to submit project proposals that promote and support innovative, inclusive and scalable initiatives, that foster multi-stakeholder partnerships at the local level. The proposed initiatives should be designed to tackle and address environmental conservation in the Country under the following strategic initiatives: a) Community-based conservation of threatened ecosystems and species, b) Sustainable agriculture and fisheries, and food security and c) Low carbon energy access co-benefits in line with the country’s environmental management and development priorities as well as the GEF targets. Projects shouild focus in the selected landscapes of the Makgadikgadi Wetland System, the Bobirwa area and the Panhandle of the Okavango Delta. Proposals should be sent to (sgpprocurement.bw@undp.org) and should reach the addresses specified above no later than 26th January 2026, (1200hrs) Botswana Time.
