Ecological Restoration Plans (ERP) provide guidance on operational actions that are implemented to protect and restore important ecosystems. Past Ecological Restoration Plans have been developed for Significant Natural Areas and high priority Council reserves. These are non-statutory plans that offer a consolidated strategic operational direction to a range of stakeholders, and can be readily when required. These ERP will also provide more detail than earlier ERP, with more detailed information on ecosystems and species compositions associated with sites, including reptiles, birds, fish, plants, and plant and animal pests. They will also cover each site’s geography, historical context, and cultural values. Detailed restoration actions will be outlined and guided by this contextual information. Where possible, these plans will include Te Tau Ihu iwi priorities for these sites, including customary practices that could be supported, such as harvesting mahinga kai or other customary practices. Climate change poses significant pressure to ecological function and information on climate related impacts and how it may influence ecological restoration options with also be included. NOTE: The RFQ, RFQ Response Form and Draft Contract are attached to this listing. Also attached are 4 examples of other Ecological Restoration Plans - for your reference.
