Introduction Country: Solomo n Islands Description of the Assignment: The Legal Adviser will be responsible for providing high-level legal expertise and technical assistance to the SIEC, ERT, and SIEO in advancing the legal reform agenda under Strategic Pillar 5 of the SIEC Strategic Plan 2024-2028. Key tasks include: • Providing legal analysis and drafting support for electoral legislation and regulations, including amendments to the Electoral Act and related laws. • Assisting in the development of policy papers, legislative drafting instructions, and regulatory frameworks for priority areas such as voter residency, out-of-country voting, and electoral dispute resolution. • Facilitating stakeholder consultations, workshops, and parliamentary engagements to build consensus and support for legal reforms. • Providing technical guidance on aligning legal reforms with international electoral standards and best practices. • Supporting the SIEC in coordinating with relevant government ministries, parliamentary committees, and development partners on legal reform processes. Period of assignment/services: 60 working days over 3 months Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than the indicated deadline.
