The works comprise the Jones Road Pavement Improvement Project, between Hoskyns Road and Weedons Ross Road, Rolleston. This project forms part of the Rolleston Access Improvements (RAI) and is strategically aligned with the upcoming SH1 Rolleston Flyover. Jones Road will serve as a critical freight and commuter route, particularly for heavy vehicles accessing the adjacent industrial zone. The existing pavement is inadequate for the anticipated traffic volumes and axle loads, posing risks to safety, efficiency, and economic productivity. The objective is to complete the physical works before mid-April 2026. To meet this timeline, Council intends to award the contract by late December 2025 using NZTA’s Lowest Price Conforming supplier selection method.
