For New Zealand, they represent an important tool in supporting the transition to a low-emissions and renewable-based energy system. As part of our wider distributed flexibility work programme, EECA, in collaboration with Rewiring Aotearoa, is undertaking a research project to understand the practical roll-out considerations for V2G technology in New Zealand. The intention is that 30-40 V2G chargers, across 4-6 types, will be installed in a wide range of homes and businesses to understand the practical use cases, including with different commuting profiles and businesses with different fleet profiles. EECA is seeking a supplier to provide quality, cost-effective purchase (likely from Australia or other countries) of selected V2G chargers (as directed by EECA), and installation of them in Queenstown (or nearby areas).
