The work will develop an evidence base focused on anaerobic digestion (AD) and biomethane, while remaining end-use agnostic to support a range of commercially viable renewable fuel and energy options. This research will fill a critical information gap by quantifying energy yields, assessing regional readiness, and comparing economic viability across end uses. The findings will inform investment and policy decisions by industry, government, and iwi, helping to strengthen New Zealand’s energy security, reduce fossil gas dependence, and advance emissions reduction goals. Suppliers are welcome to tender for one or all of the regions associated with this tender.
