Council has made the decision to consolidate the service by combining into a single district wide waste services contract, excluding the Raglan area. This includes the delivery of the following services: •Weekly kerbside collection of rubbish from approximately 28,000 households. Currently 26,000 households using rubbish bags district wide and 2,000 households using 120L wheelie bins in Tuakau. •Transportation of collected kerbside rubbish to a designated landfill. •Weekly collection of standardised recyclables kerbside in crates (paper and card presented on the side) from approximately 28,000 households. •Provision of monthly recycle pop-up recycling events in Glen Murray and Te Aakau. •Processing and sale of recyclables. This notice provides early advice that the Council will holding an early market engagement workshop and issuing advanced information via this GETS notice to enable registered suppliers to be prepared. Waikato District Council seeks to engage early with suppliers to enable prospective tenderers to be ready to develop their proposals once the Tender request information is issued in early January 2026.
