Tender summary

• To obtain an automated laser profile measurement tool, which is, battery powered, controlled remotely and self-propelled. • Capable of recording profile of all rails at intervals of, no greater than, 2mm. • Must be capable of carrying out Points and Crossing inspections autonomously. • The proposed measuring device should have capabilities in a number of different areas and be able to combine numerous measurement points within their inspection, such as o Longitudinal Level o Alignment o Cross Level o Five-Point Derailment and have the ability factor in chair gaps/hogging (equivalent to NR/L2/TRK/053 and NR/L2/TRK/1054 Network Rail Standard) o Short Twist and Twist over 3m o Track Gauge o Free Wheel Passage, o Free Wheel Clearances o Measure Switch Residual Opening o Detect Broke or loss of section in switches and crossings including wing rails o Detect Gaping Switches o Switch and Rail Wear o Inspection of Running Edge o 3D Scanning of the Switches and Crossing Nose, o Fixed Nose Protection, o Nose Free Wheel Passage/Clearance, o Monitor of Sidewear on Rail and to record Track Geometry, o Detect and Measure Lipping/Plastic Flow.
