Für die Anbindung eines neuen Gebäudes auf dem U-Bahnbetriebshof in der Kafkastraße in Langwasser plant die VAG Nürnberg die Verlegung von Lichtwellenleiterkabeln (LWL-Kabel) in der Stärke von 144 Fasern entlang der U-Bahn Betriebsstrecke zwischen dem Plärrer und dem Neubau auf dem U-Bahnbetriebshof in Nürnberg. Insgesamt sollen drei Glasfaserkabel in der o.g. Stärke (2x VAG, 1x N-ERGIE IT) verlegt werden, wobei der Anschluss der Kabel pro Bahnhof unterschiedlich ausfällt.
