Summary
Engineering Led Multi-Disciplinary Design Consultancy Services for the successful delivery of Phases 2 to 7 of the NTA Project management Guidelines for Ardaun Access Phase 2. Galway City Council are seeking to engage a Roads/Transport Engineering Led Multi-disciplinary design team to review existing reports, plans and policies and to develop the following: A new link road to Ardaun from the R446, which will provide a new southern access point. It is envisaged that the likely length of Link Road would be in the region of 300m in length and that there will be a major junction on the R446. A section of the R446 will need to be included and upgraded both north and south of the proposed junction to ensure that proper tie ins can be considered, in addition to walking, cycling and buses. Typically, this is 500m either side of the junction, therefore approximately 1km in total of the R446 is included, and The widening of the existing link from the Martin Junction, which has previously been upgraded to a signalised junction. The arm linking into the Ardaun will require land acquisition to allow for widening to add bus lanes, Bus Shelters and the like.
