Summary
This Notice of Intent is to advise that the Department of Health, Ageing and Disability (Department) intends to approach the open market mid to late June to seek tenders for the following:The Department will seek to engage laboratory services to support the delivery of the National Wastewater Surveillance Program through the collection, testing, and analysis of wastewater samples, at up to 50 sites across Australia. Laboratories will be required to undertake sampling and laboratory testing of national priority pathogens, and must also have the capacity to expand wastewater sampling and testing for emerging threats. The services may be provided by a single laboratory or a consortium. The successful tenderer/s will have established relationships with utilities and will work closely with them and relevant stakeholders to coordinate sample collection, contribute to the development of technical methods for population-level wastewater surveillance, and support the implementation of consistent wastewater testing and analytical methodologies.
