Renewable energy cooperation continues to be a cornerstone of the relationship between New Zealand and Indonesia, and our bilateral IDC support to Indonesia includes a strong focus on climate change and renewable energy. One of these renewable energy development activities has included the New Zealand Maluku Access to Renewable Energy programme (NZMATES), which is coming to a close in late 2025.
